Dr. Andrew Guy

Medical Direction Fellow, Prehospital and Transport Medicine Fellow, Emergency Medicine Resident, BC

Andrew is an Emergency Medicine Resident at the University of British Columbia based out of Royal Columbian Hospital. He is currently completing a fellowship in Prehospital and Transport Medicine, with a special interest in Mass Gathering Medicine as a Medical Direction Fellow. During the year he is also pursuing interests in wilderness and mountain medicine through the CSMM Diploma in Mountain Medicine. In addition to the above, Andrew’s medical interests include point-of-care ultrasound, simulation, and medical education.

Andrew grew up in Victoria, BC where he started in event medicine with St. John Ambulance during undergraduate studies, supporting local music festivals, sporting events, and learning the ropes of event organization and personnel management. He became involved in MGM events with a variety of providers, as well as the UBC student club during his medical school years, though he took a step back from the event organizational side of things due to time constraints. He’s excited to now have a chance to rekindle his roots in event organization and learn from the Odyssey team.

Outside of medicine, you’ll find him typically exploring the mountains with his wife and dog either on foot, bike, or skis; sampling new craft beer and local wine; or travelling internationally.

“I believe that in order to provide exceptional care to our clients we must first truly engage with and understand the events we serve. Odyssey does that by working with a diverse group of healthcare providers each bringing a unique background and skillset to our events.”
